Farm Council

The Farm Council is a group of parent volunteers interested in supporting the educational goals of the Farm and helping with the operation and improvement of the farm. The Farm is solely funded by parent donations and other funds raised by the Farm Council. The Farm continues to thrive and grow because of the hard work and support of these groups and many community volunteers. The Farm Council is open to any interested member of the Ohlone community.

Specific roles and responsibilities include:

• Recruit and organize volunteers for animal care. Provide training to animal care volunteers, in collaboration with the garden coordinator
• Organize and carry out fundraising activities for the farm
• Maintain and improve the physical infrastructure on the Farm, with support from the school district
• Manage the farm finances and provide regular reports to interested parties
• Review, approval and funding of projects on the farm
• Encourage and support teachers in their efforts to link the classroom curriculum to the Farm
• Facilitate farm related communication with the entire Ohlone community
• Act as an advocate for the Farm
