Tanya Buxton Farm science teacher

The farm Science teacher, Tanya Buxton, received her Masters in Education and science teaching credential through Stanford University's STEP program. After teaching high school for 10 years at Menlo School, she joined the Ohlone community in 2007 and developed the Farm Science program as it stands today.

The Farm Science program exists in a biweekly rotation with the Farm program at Ohlone.  Striving to integrate the California state science standards with the living laboratory of the farm, the Farm Science program uses a unique integrative curriculum that provides hands-on instruction and an opportunity to experience learning in an outdoor environment.  An emphasis on experiential education, combined with an early appreciation for the scientific method are the guiding cornerstone philosophies of the program.
