SubjectOhlone eNews: Measure A, final week ID :257
Message
Who: You
What: Measure A (parcel tax) election
When: Now
Where: A mailbox near you
How: Mark your ballot, put it in the postage-paid envelope, seal and sign it, then mail it
Why: secure approximately $11M per year in school funding

Your PTA reminds all registered voters in the district to return Measure A election ballots by mail THIS WEEK.  This is a MAIL-IN ONLY ballot, with no election day polling places.  Ballots must be received by May 4 (not postmarked), so they should be mailed this week to ensure they are counted in the election.

The current parcel tax expires next year and brings over $9M to PAUSD schools.  The parcel tax proposed in Measure A would replace the current tax and includes a $96 increase, an annual 2 percent escalation (after the first year, to address enrollment growth, inflation, state funding reductions), and would bring approximately $11.2M per year to our schools in funding that the state could take away.

If you are a registered voter within the school district and have misplaced (or never received) your ballot, contact the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters immediately: 408-299-VOTE (8683).

Completed ballots can also be dropped off at the Measure A collection box in the lobby of Palo Alto City Hall (250 Hamilton Ave) up until 5pm on May 4.
